Dr. David Jefferies
Dr. David Jefferies is a senior registrar completing his specialist training with the Australasian College of Sport and Exercise Physicians.
David has worked with a number of elite sports and currently works with the Sydney Roosters and Sydney FC. He has previously worked with the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles, Melbourne Storm, New South Wales Waratahs, Rugby Australia, Western Sydney Wanders and Perth Glory, and he was recently the Chief Medical Officer for World Rugby’s Sydney 7’s competition. He has also been involved with multiple endurance sports including the London Marathon and Ironman.
After attaining his medical degree and a bachelor’s degree in Physiology at The University of Bristol he completed his post graduate training in London. He then undertook a Masters degree in Sports, Exercise, and Health at University College London before emigrating to Australia. After 3 years working in Emergency Medicine at Royal North Shore Hospital, he joined the Sports and Exercise specialist training program in 2018. He is currently undertaking a Ph.D. in concussion through UNSW at the Children’s Institute of Sports Medicine at Westmead where he also consults part time.
David has an interest in diagnosis and management of all musculoskeletal issues including osteoarthritis, tendon pain, back pain, limb pain and sport related concussion. He offers in clinic ultrasound and a variety of image guided injections including corticosteroid, hyaluronic acid, prolotherapy and platelet rich plasma (PRP). He does not require a GP referral to see patients.
