There are many reasons why exercise is beneficial for health in seniors:
The categories of physical activity to include are aerobic fitness, strength, flexibility and balance. Examples of suitable exercise are walking, dancing, tai chi, bowls, cycling, tennis and lifting weights. Think of movement as an opportunity and try to accumulate at least 30 minutes of physical activity on most days. |
