Paediatric Rehabilitation Specialist Louise is a Paediatric Rehabilitation specialist with an interest in working with children and adolescents who find it hard to participate sport and exercise to ensure they access the positive benefits safely. She holds a Masters in Sports Medicine from UNSW as well as dual Australian paediatric and rehabilitation fellowships and originally trained in London UK. Louise currently works in Kids Rehab at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead and has a particular interest in generalised joint hypermobility, inherited musculoskeletal conditions, athletes with a physical disability and exercise and rehabilitation programmes for children with health and/or disability issues. Rehabilitation care involves working with the child’s family, school and community providers including sports clubs to ensure inclusion, appropriate adaptations and safe access to activities. Care will be provided by a team of health professionals and directed towards goals agreed with the child and family. Patients need to be referred from their own doctor who will be a key participant in the ongoing care. Find "The differential diagnosis of children with joint hypermobility: a review of the literature" here. |
